Near Far East – August, 30

On August 30th, a new project is being launched in Odessa, Ukraine. It is called the “Near Far East” and is dedicatd to the Far East and Japan in particular.

The exhibition features art works owned by A.V. Bleshunov and “Kandinsky” art center.

The exhibition will last till September, 16th. You can get more detailed information about the project’s schedule at the official website of Odessa.

Art Exhibition – August 31

On August, 31st Odessa Municipal Art Gallery will host a paiting exhibition dedicated to the city’s 216th anniversary.

“Odessa’s Artists – to the Native City” exhibition will feature over 30 works created by Odessa painters in various genres.

The exhibition will be open for 1 month, till September, 31.

Magical Hands Fair – August 20

On August 20-22, an international exhibition and fair of hand made goods will be held in Odessa, Ukraine.

This event, “Magical Hands 2010,” is the first one to be ever hosted by the city.

The following hand made goods will be presented at the fair: dolls, jewelry, greeting cards, furniture, felt clothes, soap, cosmetics, wood, glass and clothes painting, and many more.

The fair will take place at 31, Shevchenko street.

Romanova and Voroncov Orchestra – August 7

On August 7th, Julia Romanova and Voroncov Orchestra will perfrom on the stage of Odessa Jewish Cultural Center (Beit Grand).

Romanova will present her new author concert “How does it feel being a woman.”

The performance will start at 7 p.m. at 77/79 Nezhinskaya street.

To understand how it feels to be a woman, consider visiting Odessa these days.

Cats and Yards – July 29

Yesterday, on July 29th, a fun exhibition of photographs made by Sasha Levitsky and Gena Chaban was introduced to Odessa, Ukraine.

The exhibition is dedicated to cats and yards of the city. It is open on weekdays till August 12th.

Everybody’s welcome to attend the exhibition at 43, Troitskaya street.

G. Pavlyuk Exhibition – July 28

Yesterday, on July 28th, the personal exhibition of Galina Pavlyuk was introduced to Odessa City Hall.

The grand opening took place at 12 a.m. in the foyer of the building.

Over 20 pieces of work created during the year of 1989-2009 are presented at the exhibition, which will last till August, 18.

Odessa visitors and citizens are invited to attend the exhibition.

J. Ostrovsky Exhibition – July 22-August 24

On July 22nd, Odessa Museum of Contemporary Art will host an exhibition  of Joseph Ostrovsky, which will last till August 24th.

The works presented at the exhibition are originally owned by private collectors and Odessa museums.

The exhibition will also feature Joseph’s biography and press releases associated with his work.

Ethnic Festival in Odessa

On July 6-8, Odessa will host an ethnic festival “Slavic Dzen.” The program of the festival will include workshops, shows of folk bands, folk art fair, regional cuisune and wine sampling, and much more.

The fetival will be held at “Odeskabel” stadium, right on the Black Sea shore.

The beginning of the festival is planned for July 6th, 12 p.m.

Admission is free for kids, veterans and pensioners.

Art Exhibitions – June, 1

As the Children’s Day is approaching, three exhibitions will be introduced in Odessa, Ukraine.

The art exhibitions that will open on Tuesday, June 1st in Odessa Ukrainian Culture Center, will feature the works of such famous artists Radni Sakhaltuyev, Pyotr Glyebov, and Anna Vaskevich.

The event is supposed to internationally acknowledged as it will be visited by artists from Moldova, Byelorussia, and France.

T. Boikanova Exhibition Opens in Odessa

On April, 12th an exhibition of works created by Tatiana Boikanova opened in Odessa Domestic Politics Exhibition Hall. The exhibition “The world is changeable, and I love it all” will last till the end of the month.
