G. Pavlyuk Exhibition – July 28

Yesterday, on July 28th, the personal exhibition of Galina Pavlyuk was introduced to Odessa City Hall.

The grand opening took place at 12 a.m. in the foyer of the building.

Over 20 pieces of work created during the year of 1989-2009 are presented at the exhibition, which will last till August, 18.

Odessa visitors and citizens are invited to attend the exhibition.

XIV International Books Fair – August 19-21

International Books Fair “The Green Wave” will be held in Odessa, Ukraine on August 19-21.

This traditional open air fair, held for the fourteenth time on the Deribasovskaya street, is regarded as the major books holiday by the city dwellers.

The aim of this fair is introduce the reading culture to Odessa citizens, attract new authors to the country and share the literary heritage with foreign and local readers.

The jury of the international movie festival unanimously ageed to name the film “Persons under 16…” by Andrey Kavun the winner of the festival.

Energy Issues to Be Discussed in Odessa

On July 27th, Odessa will host an international forum dedicated to the promotion of energetic security and investments in the Black Sea region.

Representatives of major counries of the Black Sea bassin will be present at the forum. They include Bulgaria, Ukraine, Georgia, Turkey, Russia, Romania, and more.

The forum will be held in cooperation with Odessa City Council.

On July 22nd, Odessa Museum of Contemporary Art will host an exhibition  of Joseph Ostrovsky, which will last till August 24th.

The works presented at the exhibition are originally owned by private collectors and Odessa museums.

The exhibition will also feature Joseph’s biography and press releases associated with his work.
